Please introduce yourself: Perry de Jong

Creativity is not only about being able to paint beautifully

“Without challenges and variety, I wouldn’t be able to perform at my best. That’s why, as Commercial Director at NPN|Graphius, I’m in the perfect role. Within this company, the motto is ‘nothing is impossible,’ and that means that even after 25 years, I can still be creative every day. Creativity isn’t just about being able to paint beautifully, but also about finding solutions.
In addition to managing and coordinating the sales team and determining strategies for areas like social media, I’m primarily hands-on. I’m heavily involved in sales, both company-wide and on an individual level.

My work is constantly changing

Whereas I used to be almost entirely occupied with selling on a personal level, these days I also communicate a lot abroad. Reference projects and our online strategy have been important in this. I have regular contact with customers from Australia, England and the United States, for example.
Another development that makes my work different from before is the fact that we are now well known as a high-quality printing company. There is a lot of word-of-mouth advertising and this is clearly noticeable: customers are finding their way to our company better and faster these days. 

More and more customisation

It is no secret that the number of customers who want to have something printed on a large scale has decreased in recent years. This means that it has become more of a luxury product, something that has to be really beautiful and well cared for. I think it's great that we really work on such a project with attention. It is extremely important to listen carefully to customers and to translate their wishes into a suitable production of high quality. We think along and always try to go the extra mile, which often leads to unique end results. 

Enjoying my work for 25 years

I mentioned earlier that I enjoy being challenged. That makes it all the more remarkable that, after 20 years, I’m still thoroughly enjoying my time at NPN|Graphius. I’m not the only one, by the way; I’ve been working with some of my colleagues for over 20 years as well. We work well together and can easily adapt to new situations. When we agree on something, it just works. That’s what makes the work so enjoyable: We truly collaborate on the final product.

In addition to the people in the company, I also enjoy working with so many different customers. From furniture manufacturers to museums, every customer has its own story.
